Grade 7's talked about the master Picasso and his work during the cubist movement. We looked at different artists and artworks before beginning a composition of their own using a musical instrument as the focal point. Creating the contour lines first and then dividing all spaces into smaller fragments, students then practiced with a two colour blending technique in coloured pencil.

Grade 8s spent a lot of time compiling ideas about the qualities and symbols that make them who they are. We began first by brainstorming and then started working with simple images to associate. Students learned about the sacred art of mandala among several Asian cultures, but mainly Tibetan. See all of the amazing designs at our Artsonia Gallery > button to the right! |
